Pretty motifs of kunjar (elephants), tota (Parrots) and phul (flowers), arranged in diagonal rows, look classy and graceful on this timeless hot pink Patan Patola silk double Ikat leher bhat weave from Patan in Gujarat. Patola weaving requires a lot of precise mental calculations, vivid imagination, patience, undivided attention, and dexterity of the hand. Currently, there are only three families practicing the Patola weave. One of these is the Salvi family, which is now in its 16th generation. This saree has colourful phul motifs and stripes on a contrasting royal blue border. The two-way royal blue pallu has Ikat phul motifs, with an additional gold zari strip. No blouse comes with this treasure.
