A lovely muted sea green Khadi cotton saree that brings together the finesses of the Khadi cotton with the beauty of the Jamdani weave. Jamdani motifs of colourful gold and silver zari floral vines adorn the expanse of fine sea green Khadi cotton. One of the most time-consuming and labour-intensive forms of handloom weaving, the Jamdani technique has been declared an "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO. The making of Jamdani involves the supplementary weft technique along with the standard weft technique. With the latter, the base sheer material is made on which thicker threads are used to create designs. Each of the supplementary weft motif is then added manually - a laborious, painstaking technique that results in visual beauty! This saree has an olive green zari border with forest green edge, and a self gold and silver zari pallu. A plain sea green blouse with silver zari border comes with the saree.
