A Mor Bangdi Paithani silk saree in purple & gold zari buttas.. A masterpiece in history, tradition, culture, craftsmanship, skill and perseverance. Paithani sarees, from Paithan in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, are noted for their bright colours and their unique signature motifs. This saree has a gold zari tissue temple border with authentic mor bangdi motifs, that is, four peacocks (mor) inside a bangle (bangdi). the mor bangdi is one of the most difficult motifs to weave, and one of the oldest. This particular saree was woven by a 6th Generation Paithani masterweaver, and took 15 months to complete. The gold zari tissue pallu has colourful akruti motifs of flowers, peacocks and mor bangdi, along with muniya motifs. This precious treasure comes with a self plain purple blouse with a Paithani border.
