A bright lime green Paithani silk saree with gold zari buttas, has gold tissue Paithani border with three rows of muniya motifs. The gold tissue Paithani pallu has, in addition to muniya motifs, an elaborate floral vines on which sit colourful peacocks. Comes with a plain lime green blouse with a Paithani muniya motifs border. Paithani dates back to the Satvahana Dynasty that ruled between the second century BC and the second century AD. The fine silk handloom sarees get their name from the town in which they originated - Paithan in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The weave flourished during the era of the Mughals, particularly during the rule of Aurangzeb.
